History
Values carried through time
Fiorenza is proud to call 74 Blackfriars Road home—a building steeped in character, craftsmanship, and over two centuries of London history. This beautiful Georgian terrace dates back to the late 18th century, with its elegant façade and original shopfront still proudly intact. Now a Grade II listed gem, it once housed the workshop and store of William Shaw, an ironmonger who set up shop here in the early 1800s, crafting stoves, ranges, and iron goods that fuelled the homes of Victorian London. His family lived and worked above the shop for generations, blending trade and tradition under one roof.
Later occupied by J. Hoare & Son, a building firm with roots going back to 1839, the space has always been a place of hands-on craft, grit, and attention to detail—values we carry through today in every plate we serve. From ironmongers to masterchefs, this address has quietly evolved while staying true to its spirit of honest, skilled work. It’s more than just bricks and mortar—it’s a piece of London’s story, now reimagined with a little Italian soul.

Whenever possible, we import straight from Italy—because nothing beats the real thing—but we also champion the best local produce, bringing you a perfect balance of freshness and authenticity.
